Principal, Chareece Sheppard
Ms. Sheppard is a native of Las Vegas, Nevada, where she attended elementary, middle, and high school. Ms. Sheppard attended Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana and completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. This is her 25th year with the Clark County School District. Ms. Sheppard began her career as a teacher at Brinley Middle School in 1992. In 1999, Ms. Sheppard was appointed as Dean at Western High School. In addition, she served as an Assistant Principal at Cheyenne High School for over 10 years from 2003-2014. She served as Curriculum Administrator for 7 of those years. Ms. Sheppard was appointed Principal at Sedway Middle School in October 2014. Ms. Sheppard has a passion for education and is committed to changing the lives of each and every student who walks through her building daily. Ms. Sheppard has one son who is a 5th grader in the school district. She enjoys traveling, cooking, and simply resting in her spare time. She is excited to be the principal of Sedway Middle School where the motto is, “Hard work equals fun times.”

Assistant Principal, Rachelle Nearn-Moorehead
Mrs. Nearn-Moorehead has been in CCSD for 10 years. She relocated here from South Florida where she was an English teacher and an administrator in Miami-Dade and Broward County. Since arriving in Las Vegas she worked at Spring Valley and Bonanza High School as an Assistant Principal. She is thrilled to be at Sedway where she has the opportunity to work with students once again after working three years at central office in the Guidance and Counseling Department as a Coordinator.
Mrs. Nearn-Moorehead is an avid Miami Hurricanes fan and follows all of their sports, but especially loves college football. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and shopping, but loves to find a bargain. Her favorite place to visit is Florida of course, where she spends her summers at the beach.

Assistant Principal, Kathy Price
I am very thankful to have been given the opportunity to serve teachers, students, and parents at Sedway Middle School. I am excited to be a member of such a wonder staff. I come to Sedway MS with 18 years of teaching and administration experience. All 18 years have been spent serving Clark County School District students, teachers, parents, and community. As a native of Las Vegas, Nevada I am thrilled to be part of the Sedway Middle School.

Dean, Tyson Russell
Mr. Russell is beginning his first full year as Dean of Students. Our new dean moved to the Las Vegas area with his family from Wichita, Kansas, when he was only five years old. Mr. Russell entered the field of education at 24 years old. He saw it as an opportunity to positively affect our world by positively affecting our young people. He earned his Master’s Degree in Special Education at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and he earned his certification in School Administration at Southern Utah University. He has worked as a special education teacher at the elementary, middle, and high school levels for the past 13 years. His experience includes stops at Tony Alamo Elementary School, Biltmore Continuation High School, and Cowan Academic Center.

Dean, Sean McNelley
Sean McNelley, a native of southern California, is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Music with a Bachelors of Music Education with a concentration in voice. His Master’s Degree is from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Urban Development with a concentration in School Leadership. Mr. McNelley currently is in his first year serving as the Dean of Students at Marvin M. Sedway Middle School, supervising performing arts and science. Mr. McNelley was a Dean of Students at Escobedo Middle School and a teacher in the Clark County School District in Nevada over the past 16 years. He has taught bands, orchestras, and choirs at both the middle and high school levels. Ensembles and students under his direction have regularly received Superior ratings at both solo and ensemble competitions at the local and state levels. His students have been selected to perform in honor ensembles, as well as having performed for the High Lord Mayor in London. Mr. McNelley has performed in bands and choirs for over 25 years, including performances in states across the country and a European tour. Some of his most notable performances were in leading roles of regional music theatre productions. He has been a guest performer and vocal soloist with the Andrea Bocelli choir, the Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society, and he regularly performs at a number of local churches in the Las Vegas and Henderson areas. He has recorded two CDs and a third album is currently in pre-production. Mr. McNelley is a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, The National Association for Music Education, The Nevada Music Educators Association, and the national music fraternity: Kappa Kappa Psi. He has been named a ‘Star Educator’ by the Discovery Channel.
